The early childhood years are the most important time in the life of a family and the most influential time for children as they start on the road to learning. Children of this age are naturally curious and interested in the world around them. This magical time of extraordinary cognitive, emotional and physical growth, combined with an excellent early childhood program, sets the foundation for later learning and social relationships.
We look forward to being partners with you as we guide and encourage your children to grow and discover themselves as young learners.
At Ark, our goal is to graduate students who are truly at ease beyond their borders. Second language instruction is integral to achieving this goal. Guided by the most current research on language acquisition and evidence showing the significant social and cognitive benefits of learning a second language, we have created an immersion curriculum designed to educate students who can converse comfortably on subjects ranging from the everyday to the academic, with a focus on global awareness.
At Ark, students spend their time learning in English or French. The curriculum at Ark teaches speaking in English and recognising the alphabet in English or French.
In addition to the social and personal benefits of being multi-lingual, current research shows that second language acquisition is highly beneficial to the development of brain functions and cognitive skills. Our coordinated curriculum leads to a high level of academic rigor and an opportunity for interdisciplinary learning that is engaging and meaningful.
'Working with numbers, being outside, playing a wonderful memory game, looking for worms. These are the passions that children totally enjoy, and you can really build on them at a school like this.'
